People Matter

As humans no matter how introverted, we are social beings. We will always be surrounded by people and one of our primal desires will always be to love and to be loved.

Why I say people matter is because at every stage in life we meet new people and make new connections and those people are the ones who shape who we are and who we become.

This is a good time to stop and think about the people who you have met, those who have changed your life in incredible ways, those who have taught you to see things in different ways, who have opened your eyes to new perspectives and how all those encounters, all those experiences come back to who you are today.

This is something I noticed as I was going through different life stages from high school, college, adult employed life, to unemployed, and finally, graduate school. All this time I thought I met one person at each life stage that left an unforgettable mark but I realize now that although each one of them left a mark, so did all the small encounters throughout my life.

People matter and that is why it is so important to stay in touch and to continue meeting new people. You might not know this, but you could make an impact on someone today, be the positive change they are looking for.

I challenge you…

To call someone you have not spoken to in a while, to ask them how they are doing, to catch up with their lives and talk to them about yours. Stay connected, keep in touch with them.
